The 25-year-old improved to 2-0 in his ATPHead2Head against Martinez. Garin lifted the Chile Dove Men+Care Open title on home soil (d. Bagnis) in Santiago in March to claim his fifth tour-level title, with all five trophies coming on clay.

Garin will next face Argentine Federico Coria at the ATP 250 event after the World No. 77 rallied to overcame Marco Cecchinato 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in two hours and ten minutes. Coria, who reached the semi-finals at the Cordoba Open (l. Cerundolo) in March, won 72 per cent (34/47) of his first-service points to advance.
